Topping the bill at the Motorpoint Arena, in Cardiff, on Saturday night, were Lee Selby and Rendall Munroe.

Selby entered the ring defending his British featherweight belt but also with the vacant European belt at stake.

His opponent, Rendall Munroe, was a former world title challenger so it had all the promise of being a close fight.

But that wasn?t how it turned out.

Selby was on top from the start and Munroe, looking the smaller man, couldn?t fend off the Welsh fighter and kept getting picked off by fast head and body shots.

With Munroe struggling to impose himself and seeming content to walk forward in a straight line rather than bob and weave, it was perhaps inevitable that the referee would stop this one-sided fight.

The end came in the sixth round when the referee did call time on Munroe?s challenge. For Selby the future continues to look bright as he heads towards a world title challenge, but for Munroe, his career looks all but over.
