On May 5th, the world will watch on as Genady Golovkin and Saul ?Canelo? Alvarez go head-to-head in a middleweight re-match.

It?s a fight many believe will be the fight of the year, with both fighters determined to emerge a clear winner, after the disputed outcome of their original fight.

But, further down the line, a certain Billy Joe Saunders is looking to fight the winner.

Saunders has a defence of his WBO middleweight belt, against Martin Murray, to concern himself with first but his promoter, Frank Warren, has spoke to the media about his charge possibly facing the winner of the aforementioned fight

Talking about the possibility of a Canelo v Saunders fight, Warren is quoted as having remarked to the media,

?If Canelo wins, I don?t think he will go anywhere near Bill.

?I think he frightens the life out of him. They all thought Lemieux was going to do a job on Billy, which you it isn?t how it turned out, and I think he scared him off.?

But Warren is far more optimistic of Golovkin agreeing to put his IBF / IBO / WBA and WBC belts on the line against the Hatfield fighter, remarking,

?Tom Loeffler has told me he?s interested if his man Golovkin wins,?

?Let me tell you, Tom. So are we and so is Bill. You know how serious Bill is in fighting Golovkin. Golovkin is a great fighter, but Bill is hitting his form that we all knew and the ability that I always knew was inside of him.?

And as for who might win the re-match between Golovkin and Canelo, Warren is quoted as having remarked,

?I fancy Golovkin as the favourite for that fight.?

Interesting times ahead for the middleweight division methinks.

Personally, I reckon Golovkin will beat Canelo this time around and will agree to a middleweight unification fight with five belts at stake, he?s not one to duck a challenge.
