The last we knew things were being put in place for a titanic grudge fight between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Junior, but how things have changed.

Today it is being reported that Saunders will not, for now, be stepping into the ring to face Eubank but will, instead be challenging Matt Korobov for the vacant WBO middleweight title.

It?s being reported that whilst Eubank signed his portion of the contract for the aforementioned domestic fight Saunders hadn?t, instead he?ll realise his dream of fighting for the WBO title against their #1 contender.

We understand the fight will most probably take place in London although the date, as of yet, is unknown. The chance for Saunders to face the unbeaten Russian, who has a record of 24-0 with 14 by way of knockout, has come about because the current champion, Peter Quillin has vacated the title.

Whilst Saunders will, naturally, be delighted at the opportunity that has come his way, we?d imagine that Chris Eubank Junior will have something to say about the situation in the very near future.
