Last Saturday night, at the Sheffield Arena, Chris Eubank Junior had his first fight for the Matchroom team.
Matched against the ageing American fighter Tony Jeter, Eubank won inside two rounds with those who had paid good money letting their feelings be known about what they saw as a poor top of the bill fight.
Eubank is slowly being guided towards a world title shot and his entourage reckon he has the beating of the new superstar of boxing, Gennady Golovkin.
However, the one fighter to beat Eubank Junior in his professional career so far, Billy Joe Saunders, has had a few harsh words to say about Eubank Junior, remarking to the media,
?So the paying public can see it, they clearly know they?re getting ripped off,?
?He?s like a market fighter ain?t he? He?s a Dagenham market fighter, all fake. They like to sell fake goods. That?s what they Matchroom do, they sell him and he?s a fake. To sell that to people? People [are] paying a lot of money [for him] to just flash off a couple of rounds. You don?t get no credit for doing that ? not after the amount of fights he?s had as well.?
With Saunders set to face Andy Lee for the world middleweight crown is the Hatfield fighter sowing the seeds for a second showdown with Eubank Junior? If so here at Vital Boxing we reckon Eubank Junior would relish the opportunity, especially as he was the victim of a close decision in their first meeting after starting the early rounds too slowly.
