On the undercard of the Dereck Chisora v Malik Scott undercard was a tasty encounter between Billy Joe Saunders and Gary O?Sullivan.

Both fighters entered the contest unbeaten and with almost identical records. However, as fights go it turned out to be pretty one-sided with Saunders romping to a majority decision taking the fight on all of the three judge?s scorecards with the scores reading 120-109, 120-109 and 119-110.

With O?Sullivan entering the contest rated at number 4 by the WBO, this emphatic win by Saunders propels him nearer to the world title shot he believes is about twelve months away.

After the fight, Saunders, quite rightly, was jubilant, remarking to the media,

‘O’Sullivan’s rated four by the WBO and I made him look silly, I made him look ordinary.?

‘He’s a good strong fighter but I got my jab working straight away and kept him at range. My game-plan worked better on the night.’

Saunders will remain active in the coming months with another hugely anticipated fight coming in September when he takes on the highly rated John Ryder.
