In a little under two weeks? time, on December 19th, Billy Joe Saunders is hoping that he can emulate Tyson Fury and become the second traveller to win a world title.
However, the general feeling in the industry is that his bout, with the reigning champion Andy Lee, could be a tough one that could go either way.
But, as you?d expect, Saunders is confident that he can grab the world title belt and move on to bigger and better things with twenty-six year-old Saunders remarking,
?I?m concentrating on Andy Lee then moving to the big fights, that?s what I got into boxing for.
?I?d love for the right fight in Las Vegas. I?d love Miguel Cotto.
?He?s a fighter I admired growing up and it would be a dream to fight him one day.
?Getting this belt and this world title is like putting some cheese in the trap. When I win the belt I want to keep it. Not lose it first go.
?I?d rather die before I?m beaten. I?d rather give it a good go and a fair crack of the whip and unify.?
But can Saunders get past the formidable challenge Lee presents, I currently have my doubts!
