Although there was disappointment for Liam Walsh at the Copper Box Arena, in London, last night, there was joy for his brother Ryan.
Ryan Walsh was making his third defence of his British featherweight title, defending against the Northern Ireland fighter Marco McCullough.
Ryan was by far the better performer, on the night, with McCullough showing his bravery by not wilting under intense pressure.
However, there was only so much the Irish fighter could take and when, in the eleventh round, the 27-year-old was pinned against the ropes by a period of sustained pressure, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.
Ryan?s successful third-defence of his British featherweight belt extends his record to 22 wins, two losses and a draw.
Could Ryan Walsh be heading for a tilt at a European title next?
