Last night at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, Brian Rose was looking to get his career back on track against the American, Carson Jones.

However, things went badly wrong for Rose when the fight was stopped in the first round by Ian John Lewis.

Rose had started the better of the two fighters and very early on Jones was wobbled. But the American quickly came to his senses and was soon forcing the action catching Rose with some heavy shots.

Continuing to catch Rose, Jones caught his opponent with one big punch that saw Rose wobbled. Although Rose didn?t look to be in serious trouble, the referee thought otherwise and stepped in to stop the fight.

Rose looked stunned and before the verdict could be officially declared stormed out of the ring and headed back to the changing rooms complaining vociferously about the stoppage and lashing out at various objects.

Persuaded to talk to Sky Sports, Rose demanded a re-match remarking to the satellite channel.

?I demand a rematch. I want something done. He gave him a chance; why not give me a chance?

?He didn?t give me a chance but I feel he gave Jones a chance. I buzzed him and I had him going worse than he had me.?

It did look to be a very premature decision and with so much at stake my view is that Rose should have been given the chance to fight on, his guard didn?t come down, there were no serious cuts and he never touched down!
