On the under-card at Craven Park last night, as the chief support to the top of the bill fight between Campbell and Coyle, Blackpool?s Brian Rose was looking for revenge.
The former world title challenger was taking on the American fighter, Carson Jones
Jones is no stranger to these shores having made several visits, the last of which saw Rose stopped inside a round in what some viewed as a premature stoppage back in February.
Rose, back in February, was distraught at the decision and wanted revenge in what was to prove to be an epic but bloody encounter.
The Blackpool fighter, wary of the punching power Carson possesses and wary of what had happened to him last time out, had to fight a large proportion of the fight with a cut across the bridge of his nose.
But he fought beautifully, out-boxing the American to build up a lead on all three judge?s scorecards and not even a gung-ho approach, something which his corner were not impressed with, when he stood foot-to-foot with his opponent could stop Rose from getting that revenge he craved.
Could Rose be heading towards another attempt at a world title?
