Before Bryan Rose entered the ring in his first fight since his doomed but gallant world title attempt, questions were being asked whether the drubbing he?d received would affect any potential comeback.

Rose, although gallant in defeat against the light-middleweight title holder Demetrius Andrade, took a pounding.

Returning to the ring, last night in Leeds, Rose was matched against the Argentine fighter Ignacio Lucero Fraga.

Rose, desperate to get back to winning ways and silence his critics, did just that by knocking the Argentine fighter out in the first round of the contest.

Whilst the win may have boosted his confidence and set him back on the comeback trail, the general feeling from the editorial chair is that Rose could have done with getting a few rounds under his belt, but then again you can only beat who is put in front of you!
