In New York City last night, at the Barclay Centre, Blackpool?s Brian Rose?s chance of becoming the WBO light-middleweight champion ended in defeat.

Having earned at shot at the WBO belt after 11 successive victories, Rose was outclassed by the unbeaten champion, Demetrius Andrade.

Although Rose proved to be a game opponent, he had no answer to the champions? faster hand-speed and hit the canvas several times during the fight.

Andrade had Rose on the floor twice in the opening three rounds and when the contest was stopped in round seven, the challenger was well behind on all three judge?s scorecards.

With the quest for world title glory now over it remains to be seen where the career of Blackpool?s Rose goes now.
