Rumblings about Amir Khan mixing it up, in the ring, with Floyd Mayweather Junior, in May 2015, continue to generate column inches.

With Khan set for a 13th December fight date with Devon Alexander, there is a general consensus of opinion that if the Bolton fighter puts in an impressive performance he just might get the mega-fight he desires.

If that were to be the case, his former trainer Freddie Roach believes his former charge has a great chance of becoming the fighter to beat the legend that is Floyd Mayweather Jnr with Roach remarking to the media,

?I always thought Amir had the talent to maybe beat someone like Mayweather. I think it?s a very good fight for Amir.?

?I give him a very good chance to win that fight. He?s fast, he?s athletic. He?s a pretty good puncher, not a great puncher. He has all the abilities in the world.?

Is Roach right or is he just being polite and backing his former charge?
