Boxing, as we all know, is a sport with inherent dangers.

Despite having stringent medical procedures in place, tragedies still, occasionally happen.

One such tragedy happened on Saturday night when 31-year-old Scott Westgarth, having won a light-heavyweight eliminator bout, against Dec Spelman, died in hospital following the fight.

Westgarth was taken ill in the dressing-room and rushed to hospital but to no avail.

With news of his plight breaking, the remainder of the bill was cancelled.

Here at Vital Boxing, our thoughts go out to Scott?s family and friends after such a tragic event.
