There?s less than two weeks to go until the most eagerly awaited fight in this country, so far this year, takes place.
The coming together of Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg, in Manchester, threatens to be an explosive night as bot put their respective super-bantamweight belts and unbeaten records on the line.
However, on March 12th at the Liverpool Echo Arena, somebody who it could be argued is the true number one in the super-bantamweight division makes his first appearance in the United Kingdom.
The boxer in question is Guillermo Rigondeaux with the thirty-five year-old Cuban taking on Jazza Dickens in a non-title fight.
Rigondeaux is under no illusions as to his top-dog status in the super-bantamweight division and has accused Frampton and Quigg of running scared, remarking, about the duo,
?Frampton and Quigg are cowards for running away from me.
?I am coming to Liverpool to win. I want to make a point to them.?
It could be interesting to see if Jazza Dickens can pull of a huge upset and throw a spanner in the works, but I doubt it.
But will the winner of the Frampton v Quigg be ready to step up to the plate to tackle Guillermo Rigondeaux?
That remains to be seen.
