This Friday night Callum Smith will be hoping to bring some Boxing cheer back to the Smith family.
After brother Paul lost to Andre Ward last weekend, Callum the #3 WBC and #13 IBF contender will be looking to further his own title ambitions when he takes on a boxer who is no stranger to these shores, the #11 WBC and #11 IBF contender Christophe Rebrasse.
The two clash at the Echo Arena in Liverpool for the vacant WBC Silver Super middleweight title.
On his last visit to these shores Rebrasse was beaten by George Groves in a twelve round fight and Rebrasse, talking to the media, reckons he?s coming to do a job on Callum Smith, remarking,
?There is a lot of hype around Callum Smith.
?I?m still not sure how good he is. My team and I have looked at three or four fights of him. He has a clean and rigid style of boxing. We intend to expose him before he has a chance to compete at world level. I can beat him.
?I?m feeling very confident and focused for this fight with Callum ? there is no pressure on me as everyone is expecting him to beat me.
?We are ready to return to England and cause a big upset beating Callum in his home city.?
Glad to see that Rabresse is talking a good fight but our money is on Callum Smith showing everyone that he is on the way up to the top and won?t let anyone get in the way.
