With Floyd Mayweather Junior intent on having one more fight before calling it a day, rumours are intensifying that Amir Khan could be his last opponent.

With Mayweather having a September date to fulfil, it was though that the Ramadan religious festival would prevent Amir from filling that date.

However, it seems that the fast ends early enough this year for Khan to get back to full-fitness and try to become the first boxer to beat Mayweather Junior.

Discussing the possibility Amir has remarked,

‘Mayweather normally fights mid-September and Ramadan is a little bit earlier this year.

‘It gives me enough time to get the training done, so it can happen.’

But the Bolton fighter is perfectly aware that a dream fight with Mayweather could disappear if he doesn?t take care of Chris Algieri on May 29th with Khan further adding,

‘I really can’t take this Algieri fight lightly – lose and it would ruin my dreams to fight the biggest names in boxing.

‘I’m not going to be fighting Mayweather until I win this fight. I’m not looking past Chris because I’ve made that mistake in the past. There are bigger fights out there for me, but this is my focus.’

It remains to be seen if Khan does his destiny fight against the flamboyant but controversial Mayweather or whether the American?s camp are just indulging in mind-games again.
