For fight number thirty-one of his professional career, Bury?s Scott Quigg will be defending his WBA super-bantamweight title.

The fight will take place in Manchester, on 13th September, with Quigg set to face Paulus Ambunda, of Namibia.

The fight will be the fourth defence of the WBA crown with Quigg?s record standing at 28 wins and 2 draws.

As for Ambunda, he has a pretty impressive record as well. In 22 fights he?s won 21 and lost just the once. Previously the challenger has held the WBO world bantamweight title and brings to the ring the WBA and IBF international titles.

The show will be promoted by Eddie Hearn who had this to say about his top-of-the-bill fighter,

‘Scott is in scintillating form and ready to stamp his authority on the division.’

It?s a date I?ve put in my diary, this fight could be something special.
