With the chances of Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton climbing into the ring diminishing, due to the Irishman expecting to move up to featherweight, it seems that Quigg?s camp have already got their eyes on their next opponent.
Talking to the media after Quigg?s demolition of Kiko Martinez, Eddie Hearn gave the indication that he is lining up a fight whereby Quigg will go head-to-head with Nonito Donaire, remarking,
?We are very close to the Nonito Donaire fight.
?That?s a real possibility for November, December. They are talking about Dubai, but I?d like it in Manchester. It?s a pay-per-view fight and if that is the case, then we can bring it here.?
On paper it looks to be a real cracker, although Hearn wanting to put the promotion on in Manchester doesn?t surprise me.
Manchester provides Quigg with a comfort zone, if I recall correctly when talk of Quigg and Frampton meeting was prevalent, Quigg?s camp were hesitant to even discuss the fight taking place in Belfast which, to me, would indicate that Dubai would be a definite no, no!
