With negotiations for a huge domestic tear-up between Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg having stalled, the Quigg camp has announced the name of their next opponent.

The Bury fighter will be headlining a promotion at the Manchester Arena on July 18th where Scott will take on somebody who Frampton has beaten not once but twice when he takes on Kiko Martinez.

After recovering from his hand injury Quigg will be looking to remain active and us looking to get back into the ring, talking about a fight with Kiko Martinez the Bury fighter has remarked,

‘I was very busy and the break has done me good – I am refreshed.

‘We know what Kiko brings, he’s been in everyone’s backyard and this is the toughest fight of my career – but there’s one thing I know, I will beat him.

‘This is a dangerous fight and those are the ones I want. It’s the type of fight that you get out of bed for your morning runs for – the fear of losing that World title makes me work even harder.’

What the punters will be looking at is whether Quigg can do a better job on Martinez than Frampton did, we can but wait and see.
