Yesterday, news broke that Scott Quigg was to make his fourth defence of his WBA super-bantamweight title.
For this latest defence, at the Phones4 u Arena, in Manchester, Scott will be taking on the dangerous Paulus Ambunda.
However, whilst not under-estimating a fighter who has only lost once in his professional career, Quigg is looking to unify the super-bantamweight division and at the press conference unveiling his latest defence, has remarked,
?Not many people believed I could win the world title but I proved them wrong.?
?Now these same critics are saying I will never unify the division but I will prove them wrong for a second time. A win over Ambunda will put me in line to take on the champions of the other organizations and I don?t really care which one it is next.?
But, as we said yesterday, the British public wants to see a showdown between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton. If Frampton beats Kiko Martinez, in Belfast, I wonder if the two will meet in a unification bout or whether this particular bout will be held back until later in the unification process!
