Reports came in yesterday that Scott Quigg is set to be out of the ring until the summer of 2015.
It appears that the Bury fighter, who successfully defended his WBA super-bantamweight title against the Japanese fighter Hidenori Otake in November, injured his hand in doing so.
The 26 year old, with a record of 30-0-2 has had an operation to fix tendon problems in his left hand with it being intimated that the injury will take 6-7 months to heal.
It remains to be seen if Quigg will walk straight back into a meg-domestic wold title unification fight with Carl Frampton or take a warm-up fight first.
Our best wishes go to Scott for a speedy recovery.
