With this summers? proposed dream-fight, at super-bantamweight, all but dead in the water, is Scott Quigg set to fight someone Carl Frampton knows all too well?

Rumours doing the rounds suggest that the Bury fighter is set to fight on July 18th, at the Manchester Arena and that his opponent will be none other than Kiko Martinez.

Martinez, as we all know, has been beaten, convincingly, twice by Frampton. In accepting the fight Quigg could be in a no-win situation.

If he beats Martinez his critics will point to the fact he?s done nothing that Frampton hasn?t already done, but f he loses, then his credibility is shot to pieces.

For Martinez though a fight with Quigg represents an opportunity to grab a version of the world title, something Frampton deprived him of, albeit a version not as enticing as Frampton?s IBF version.
