In the background of every celebrating victor is an unfortunate loser.

Whilst Carl Frampton ponders over who to fight next and whether to step up a weight or not, the boxer he beat on Saturday night, Scott Quigg, was lying in a hospital bed recovering from an operation to fix the jaw that was broken by a vicious uppercut from Frampton in the fourth round of their bout in Manchester.

Talking about his operation, Quigg, lying in his hospital bed, remarked via the social network sites,

?Very sore but a very successful operation. Can?t thank you enough for all the support, I will be back soon.?

And talking about the defeat he suffered at the hands of Frampton, he further added,

?It?s killing me inside. I?m absolutely devastated but I?m not going to sit and mope. I?m putting on a brave face but I?ll be back.?

?Fair play, he caught me with the uppercut. I knew my jaw had gone but it didn?t affect me one bit though, so no excuses whatever.?

And on the fact one judge gave the verdict to him, Quigg further added,

?One of the judges gave it to me. He saw it how I was seeing it. But he has got the decision, he?s a great champion. I?m not going to discredit him.?

Quigg, we believe, will come back a lot wiser, he lost the fight by not being active enough in the first six rounds and then showed that when he pushed forward he could hurt Frampton.

Meanwhile we wish Scott a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing his eventual return to the ring.
