Although currently out of the ring courtesy of an injury, Scott Quigg and his team have been talking up a summer fight with Carl Frampton.

However, whilst discussions about venues and purse splits might be dominant, it remains to be seen whether the authorities will let the fight happen.

Across the pond, evidence is emerging that the IBF, whose belt Frampton holds, are not willing to sanction a bout between the two as Quigg isn?t the true WBA champion.

That honour currently belongs to Guillermo Rigondeaux who is ranked as the WBA Super-champion.

With Rigondeaux?s manager, Gary Hyde, looking to get his man in a bout with Quigg, he has remarked to the media,

?We are aware that there are some discussions about a bout between Quigg and Frampton. However, we have been in touch with the IBF and they will not sanction the unification fight with anyone other than the highest level champion which in this case is Guillermo Rigondeaux.?

With Rigondeaux?s camp putting pressure on the authorities, it remains to be seen whether a blind-eye will be turned to allow the two British super-bantamweights to meet.
