It seems an age since Scott Quigg last fought.

The fighter, from Bury, who held the WBA super-bantamweight before losing it to Carl Frampton in February, has been recuperating from a broken jaw sustained in the early stages of that epic bout.

However, Quigg is now about to set-off on the comeback trail and will feature on the bill at the Manchester Arena, on 10th December, when Anthony Joshua defends his IBF heavyweight title against Eric Molina.

Quigg, still only 28-years-of-age, will be fighting the Mexican fighter, Jose Cayetano, a boxer who has 20 wins and 4 losses on his record. However, an indication of the class he has been boxing at is given by the fact the last of those losses was against Leo Santa Cruz, the fighter Carl Frampton beat to claim the WBA version of the featherweight title.

Ahead of the fight with Cayetano, Quigg has reiterated his desire to get back in the ring with Frampton, remarking to the media,

‘It’s no secret that I want a rematch with Carl.

‘I want to be linked with Carl and Lee Selby because if I am not, I’m doing something wrong.

‘I’ve got to go out there and get back to winning ways first though, and then those fights will happen.’

Our best wishes go to Scott for his comeback fight.
