Could Carl Frampton be deprived of his world title fight against the WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz?

It is something that could very well happen.

Although Barry McGuigan is keen to lure the WBC champion to Belfast, hopefully luring Santa Cruz to Ireland with the promise of a big purse, the Matchroom team, led by Eddie Hearn also seem keen to set up a fight for Santa Cruz.

Following Scott Quigg?s spectacular demolition of Tshifhiwa, in two rounds last night, Hearn is keen for 25 year-old Quigg to embark on a super-bantamweight unification route, remarking to the media,

?The plan now is to unify the division and we want either the WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz or the IBF champion Kiko Martinez. We?ll be speaking to both of them.?

Personally, I?d prefer Quigg to face Kiko Martinez leaving Leo Santa Cruz to take on the unbeaten Carl Frampton and then, if the two British fighters come through, we can then have one huge domestic world title unification fight!
