With a Scott Quigg v Carl Frampton match being touted as a fantastic all-British bout, Quigg, last night, went some way to distancing himself, for the time being, from such a clash.

Quigg, boxing on the undercard of the Gavin Rees v Anthony Crolla fight, in Bolton, produced an epic performance to stop the Brazilian fighter William Prado.

The super-bantamweight produced a flurry of head and body shots to dump the unfortunate Prado on the canvas in round three.

Quigg?s reward for his win could be a world title shot with it being suggested that he?ll meet Yoandris Salinas after the WBA ordered the two fighters to meet for the vacant tile with a September date being suggested.

Returning to the possibility of a Quigg v Frampton showdown, could such a clash be at world title level, sometime in the New Year?

Stranger things have happened!

  • Quigg is a boxer on a mission, loved it when he used his front room as the dressing room for a home fight in Bury, hopefully a switch of camp, to Eddie Hearn, will see him become more active
