After pulling out of the recent show at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, David Price is set to fight for the vacant European heavyweight title on 17th July.
Price, who has rebuilt his career after those two knock-out defeats to Tony Thompson, will be taking on the unbeaten Erkan Teper at the wonderfully named Ludwigsburg MHP Arena, Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
For Price it is not only an opportunity to move closer to a world title fight, something that never looked on the cards after Thompson had twice blasted him out, but also to become the first Liverpool heavyweight to win the European title.
But it will not be an easy night for Price, Teper?s record is impressive with 14 wins and no defeats with 9 of those wins coming by knockout, at six feet five he is also only three inches shorter than Price and packs a knockout punch, something Price will have to be aware of.
However, after those two defeats against Thompson, Price has modified his style of fighting, not rushing in and waiting for his chance. If he can do that against Teper then Price could well become the heavyweight champion of Europe.
