Earlier this week I profiled three fights that were up and coming.

One of these, taking place on July 6th at the Liverpool Echo Arena, involves David Price taking on Tony Thompson.

As you?ll recall, Price was beaten by Thompson the first time the pair clashed, back in February. Price, stopped by a crunching punch, saw his promising career stopped in its tracks.

However, Price, having been beaten by Thompson, should be applauded for taking a re-match when, perhaps, there were easier options out there for him.

In the aftermath of the February defeat, Price, has formed a liaison with one of the best former heavyweights out there, Lennox Lewis, who has been acting as his mentor.

Lewis who himself had to come back from the bitter disappointment of losing to Oliver McCall, in 1994, to beat the same boxer later, has spoken about the similarities between his defeat and the defeat suffered by Price, with the former heavyweight champion remarking to the media,

?Absolutely, I can see similarities.?

?It?s a situation where you fall off a horse and have to get back on again. I know I did, it?s the same for David.?

?A defeat like that makes you want to go back to the gym and say ?I?ve got to work even harder?.

Now I?d hope that with Lewis on board Price will have put in the hard work needed to get his career back on track, but like we all know, in the heavyweight division you are always just one punch away from glory or devastation, let?s hope for Price?s sake it turns out to be the former.
