Over in Germany, at the Sport and Congress Centre, Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Almania, David Price continued his comeback successfully.

Matched up against a 39 year-old Ukrainian, Yaroslav, Zavorotnyi, who could, at best, be described as a journeyman, Price took the ten round fight on a points decision with the judge?s scoring the contest;-

? 97-93

98-92

100-90

The fight was far from spectacular and, in all honestly, quite dull. Price tried to force the action, using his jab and hurt the Ukrainian with a body shot in the 3rd round and also with a shot to the head in the 7th.

Sadly, it looked as if Price was content to bide his time instead of trying to knock his opponent out and was too conscious of, on average, the one heavy punch that Zavorotnyi was content to throw in each round.

Perhaps the highlight of the fight came in the final round Zavorotnyi threw Price to the canvas and then fell on top of him, almost trying to get a submission.

If Price does harbour ambitions of gate-crashing the world heavyweight scene then he certainly is going to have to up his game and get into the ring with better opposition than the opponent he faced last night.
