This Saturday the Liverpool fighter, Paul Smith, faces the challenge of his career.
After two unsuccessful WBO world title fights against Arthur Abraham, in Germany, Paul is looking to bounce back in what would be incredible style when he faces the awesome WBA super-middleweight champion, Andre Ward, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
Ward, with a record that reads 27-0 with 14 of those wins coming by way of knockout, is making a return to the ring after a long absence.
The fight has been made at a catch-weight of 172 pounds and whilst most pundits believe Paul is in for a hard night his brother, Callum, reckons he has a chance, remarking to the media,
?Stranger things have happened and he?s confident he can pull off the upset.
?Paul learned a lot from the Abraham fights, especially from the first one. He learned that he belonged at that level.
?Paul has had, stranger things have happened and he?s confident he can pull off the upset.
?It?s a step up from Arthur Abraham and any super-middleweight in the world but I?m sure he will give a good account of himself.?
I hope he does because after two defeats on the bounce, a third might see Paul Smith heading towards retirement.
Paul Smith Can Beat Andre Ward!
