Now that would have been some professional debut!

Although Anthony Joshua impressed many with his first round demolition of the Italian Emanuele Leo, things could have turned out so different.

Amongst the flurry of punches thrown by the Watford heavyweight one, accidentally we should say, bounced off of the head of the referee John Lewis.

It would appear that with his enthusiasm getting the better of him young Anthony, believing Leo was about to clump him one as the referee ordered them to break, threw a punch that John Lewis got in the way of.

Talking about the incident afterwards young Joshua had this to say,

?I thought ?Oh no! What have I done?. I thought I could be disqualified.?

?When the referee said break, Leo was going to hit me, so I thought I?ve got to get to him first. Then all of a sudden the ref was in the way.?

Now we doubt whether, in his home country, John Lewis would have disqualified him but if the fight had taken place abroad who knows.

The media could now be portraying our Olympic super-heavyweight gold medalist as the biggest villain since Mike Tyson bit part of Evander Holyfield?s ear off or Dereck Chisora and David Haye had a brawl in Munich!
