Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is a fight that fight fans have been waiting for for many, many years.

The arch-rivals have taunted each other for years but this hasn’t been a fight to happen.

Until now!

Pacquiao is focusing on his next fight at the moment, which will be against Chris Algieri next month, but has spoken on a promotional trip to Hong Kong about his desire to finally get in the ring with the undefeated Mayweather next year.

He said: ‘I’m crossing my fingers – hopefully that fight will happen by next year.

‘Right now my mind is already set to focus on my next fight with Chris Algieri. I think the time to talk about that issue is after the fight.’

The 35-year-old spoke about retirement, but insisted that isn’t on his mind just yet and he still has ‘a couple of years’ left in him as he wants to continue his ‘boxing journey’, so he’ll see what happens with that fight.

A big-money fight between the two will surely happen?

Pacquiao has been accused of taking former kickboxer Algieri lightly, a claim that he’s strongly denied with his focus on defending his WBO welterweight title very much there despite his ‘break’ to make his debut in the Philippines’ domestic league of basketball.

This was all part of his training apparently with him knowing the undefeated Algieri, much taller than him, will be hungry to beat him, but Pacquiao is desperate to beat him, whichever way he can.

Adding: ‘I’m not taking this fight lightly because I know his hunger and he’s young and he wants to win the fight, but I will not let that happen.

‘I’m not thinking about the knock-out because it will make me confident and careless.

‘If the knock-out comes it will come but my focus is to make sure that 100 percent condition and killer instinct is there, the aggressiveness is there, so that’s my focus in training.’

This fight takes place on November 23rd, after this we might get a little more on a possible Mayweather meeting?
