Last night, tuning into Frank Warren?s Box Nation channel, I watched an excellent American programme covering the build-up to the forthcoming Pacquiao v Rios contest.

The two warriors are scheduled to meet in the early hours of Sunday 24th Novermber (UK time) and a few hours after the epic Froch v Groves encounter.

Both fighters are looking to get back to winning ways as they seek a return to the top of the division.

However, Manny Pacquiao, who was knocked out horrifically last time out, will have been troubled by the recent events in his beloved Philippines.

Rumours suggest that the 34 year-old was thinking of returning to his homeland to view the affected areas and hopefully raising depleted spirits.

But Pacquiao has decided to remain in his training camp and instead will dedicate the fight to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

It is a warm-hearted gesture and one which might just turn the tide, support-wise, in his favour.
