Following his defeat at the hands of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, at the post fight press conference, blamed a shoulder injury for his defeat.

The Filipino remarked at the conference,

?Three weeks before the fight, I stopped training. We went for an MRI. There is a tear in my right shoulder. I had to back off.

?When I threw a combination it hurt.

?The loss won?t bother me because I fought a good fight. I did my best. Even though I hurt my shoulder, I didn?t complain in the ring, it is part of the game.?

However, with the revelation coming out and the fact that it was a known problem ahead of the fight, accusations were made that the pay-per-view TV audience had perhaps been cheated, something which Bob Arum, Pacquiao?s manager, was quick to comment on, remarking,

?Athletes always fight hurt. We thought the job that was done on the shoulder would give him the opportunity to throw his right hand.

?But this is sport , he got injured in training, thought he had dealt with it and then this happens again when his shoulder started hurting.?

My fears are that the reputed injury could well lead to a re-match and the whole charade will be played out again.
