It?s generally accepted that boxing can be a brutal sport but it should also be recognised that it is a sport with the strictest medical guidelines.

However, the sheer nature of the sport does, occasionally, see a fighter hurt.

In Sheffield, on Friday night, the British welterweight Jerome Wilson was taking on the Cameroon fighter Serge Ambomo.

Twenty-nine year old Wilson was knocked out in round six and was taken from the arena on a stretcher and taken unconscious to the local hospital.

Reports suggest that Wilson arrived at the hospital in a responsive state and here at Vital Boxing we sincerely hope he recovers quickly and is back amongst the boxing fraternity as soon as possible.
