When the Cuban fighter, Luis Ortiz had to pull out of his world heavyweight title challenge, against the WBC champion Deontay Wilder, after failing a drugs test for the second time, it was expected that Ortiz would get a lengthy ban.
Unfortunately, that hasn?t proven to be the case.
Instead, the Cuban has been given a fine of £18,497 for failing to disclose that he had taken a forbidden drug to lower his high blood pressure.
Furthermore, it seems that Ortiz is right back in the mix for a world heavyweight title challenge with the WBC issuing a statement that reads,
‘Ortiz is available to compete in WBC-sanctioned events, and shall be confirmed in the WBC ratings in a position consistent with the recommendation of the WBC Ratings Committee.?
Unbeaten in his 27 fights, Ortiz having been banned for eight months for a previous drugs offence, appears to be living a charmed life!
