Is it really a year ago today that history was made?

To me it seems, for some reason, a lot longer ago than that.

But, on this very day in 2015, Tyson Fury beat the legend that is Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles.

The fight, in Dusseldorf, saw Tyson Fury become the first man in a decade to beat the Ukrainian.

It was never the best of fights and it was lucky that it even went ahead with TEAM Fury complaining that the make-up of the ring was incorrect and wanted it changing otherwise they?d walk away.

But start it did and Tyson Fury boxed almost the perfect fight, keeping Wladimir at bay, circling the ring and clinching whenever Wladimir got too close.

Wladimir looked confused by Tyson?s tactics and seemed scared to let his big punches go, fearing he?d get caught by a counter-punch.

When the bell sounded for the end of the 12th round, there was an anxious wait to see how the judges had scored the fight, but Tyson Fury was declared the winner amid marvellous scenes.

Since that monumental night Tyson Fury has yet to box again. The IBF were very quick to strip him of their belt after it became common knowledge that there was a re-match clause in the original contract.

Tyson Fury has since relinquished the other two belts, WBA and WBO, as he mounts a fight against depression, a fight we wish him well with.

But, hearing the verdict announced, on that night in Dusseldorf, saw Tyson Fury achieve a dream few thought he was capable of realising, what a wonderful night.
