Another of the amateur boxers who represented Great Britain at the 2016 Olympics has decided that the time is ripe for a move to the professional ranks.

The fighter in question is Josh Kelly a welterweight who reached the last sixteen at the 2016 Olympics.

Kelly has turned professional and joined Eddie Hearn?s Matchroom Boxing team.

Talking about acquiring the talented youngster, Eddie is quoted as having remarked to the media,

?I’m delighted to welcome another Olympian to the team.

?Josh is an exceptional talent and looks a million dollars, I really feel he can cross over and become a star in the sport. I look forward to guiding him to a world title.?

Josh will make his professional debut on April 15th at the SSE Arena, in Glasgow, with the bill being topped by the huge fight between Ricky Burns and Julius Indongo.

Talking about turning professional, 22-year-old Kelly has remarked to the media,

‘There’s going to be ups and downs because I’m a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but when I put my mind to it I know I can do a lot in the sport. I?ve got the right people around me and all the boxes are ticked for success.’

Here at Vital Boxing we?d like to take this opportunity to wish Josh Kelly all the best as he starts off on the road to fame and riches in the professional ranks.
