On Saturday night, Lawrence Okolie made his professional debut.
Okolie, who reached the last-16 in the Rio Olympics boxing tournament, was fighting on the under-card of the Crolla v Linares card at the Manchester Arena.
As far as debut fights go, Okolie made an impression.
Boxing at cruiserweight, Okilie was matched against a London cruiserweight called Geoffrey Cave.
As it turned out it was an explosive debut with the fight lasting less than 20 seconds before Cave was stopped.
In commenting on his debut the 24-year-old Okolie jokingly remarked,
?Sorry to everyone that missed the fight.?
After barely getting into second gear, we suspect that Okolie will be back in the ring, for his second professional fight, very soon.
