March 25th sees Anthony Crolla set to take on the hugely impressive Jorge Linares.
Crolla will be hoping that he can win back the WBA lightweight title he lost to Linares in his last fight.
However, whilst the main event is an exhilarating world title fight between two fighters at the top of their profession, the under-card will feature a fighter who will be having his first experience as a professional.
A press release received this morning has confirmed that Lawrence Okolie will climb between the ropes for his first professional fight.
Okolie, who was a Team GB boxer at the Rio Olympics in 2016, will be fighting at cruiserweight.
His opponent, in his first fight, will be Russell Henshaw, a fighter who has a record that reads 7 wins from 10 fights.
Talking to the media about his forthcoming professional career, 24-year-old Okolie is quoted as having remarked,
‘I want to dominate the division. I’m not afraid to let the other Cruiserweights know that I’m here and I am coming for them.?
I predict there could be some interesting times ahead in the cruiserweight division once Okolie gets established.
