On the undercard of the Eddie Hearn promoted ?Summertime Brawl? at the O2 Arena, in London, were two promising fighters looking to extend their winning runs.

Fighting at cruiserweight, the Rio 2016 Olympian, Lawrence Okolie was having his fourth fight since turning professional.

Matched against Russ Henshaw, Okolie wasted no time in exerting his authority. The heavy punching cruiserweight had Henshaw on the floor twice in the opening round to force a stoppage. Henshaw had no answers to the powerful body-shots that Okolie unleashed and slipped to a sixth defeat in a fifteen-fight career.

Fighting at super-welterweight, Ted Cheeseman claimed the English super-welterweight title in a thrilling encounter against Matthew Ryan. Cheeseman was the better fighter throughout and claimed the title and extended his run as a professional to nine wins from nine fights. Ryan in losing, suffered a second defeat of his career.

Here at Vital Boxing we?ll be keeping a close watch on both Lawrence Okolie and Ted Cheeseman, both look to have very bright futures in our sport.
