Rumours are moving at a fast pace and suggesting that Kell Brook?s next defence of his IBF welterweight title will be against a fellow British fighter.

Whilst Brook and his promoter, have done their utmost to tempt Amir Khan into the ring, the Bolton fighter has given them a wide berth suggesting that although he is prepared to fight Brook in twelve months, the Sheffield fighter needs to fight some A-list fighters first.

Therefore we reckon Amir Khan might be chuckling to himself heartily with the latest gossip suggesting that Brook will be taking on Frankie Gavin in his next defence.

The rumours that such a fight is to be imminently announced are borne out by Gavin remarking,

‘I’m not stupid. I’m not delusional. I’m going to have to perform out of my skin.

‘But I’ve definitely got it in me to do it. I’m very confident Kell can be beaten and hopefully it’s someone with my skills who will do it.

‘Nothing is signed or done yet but I know Eddie’s spoken to Kell and Kell’s up for it and I’m up for it. So we’re going to sit down and have another chat in the next two days and hopefully get it done.’

Surely there is someone better for Kell to fight?

Gavin is a talented up and coming fighter but he?s not ready for this fight yet and a defeat will set his career back no end.
