Something that slipped under the radar whilst I was on a late summer sojourn was some news relating to Martin Murray.

Murray, recently beaten by George Groves in a tough encounter, was hoping to get his career back on track with a second fight against Arthur Abraham.

Martin, in his previous encounter with Abraham, who is now 37-years-old, saw the British fighter lose a split decision to the former two-weight world champion.

But Martin, who has lost two out of his last three fights, will have to wait to see if he can get revenge over Abraham as the German based fighter has picked up an injury whilst sparring.

The fight, although not for a world title, would have added some interest to the November 12th bill put together by Eddie Hearn for Monte Carlo.

It remains to be seen whether Murray will be offered a chance to fight a replacement or whether he will be removed from the bill.

We?ll keep a watchful eye on events.
