Memories are, in my mind, still fresh of our very own Matthew Macklin being dismantled by the hard-punching Gennady Golovkin.

Well it would appear that after making another successful defence of his WBA middleweight belt, against Curtis Stevens, Golovkin has his eyes set on taking on another British fighter in the shape of Martin Murray.

Murray has signed up to meet Golovkin, on February 1st, in the splendid venue of the Salle des etoiles, in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The records of the fighters ahead of the fight are 28-0 for Golovkin, with 25 by way of knockout and 25-1 for Murray, with 11 by way of knockout.

For Murray, who has a good defense, the fight represents a huge challenge with Golovkin being the firm favourite.

Nevertheless, you just never know in boxing do you!
