Can Rendall Munroe reach the dizzy heights he once occupied, in Boxing, back in 2010?

Back in those days Rendall had world title ambitions and fought the Japanese figher, Toshiaki Nishioka, for the world title, a bid that ended in failure.

However, Rendall earned our respect as the European super-bantamweight champion before a defeat against Scott Quigg, for the WBA interim super-bantamweight title saw the former dustman announce his retirement.

But itchy gloves saw Rendall resume his career and a win over Andy Townend appears to have re-ignited his desire for success.

Today it has been announced that Rendall, now 33, will take on the current British and Commonwealth champion Lee Selby for the vacant European featherweight title.

No official date has been set for the bout but it is being inferred it could be on the under-card of the upcoming Carl Froch v George Groves bill.
