Down the undercard, in Glasgow, there were several interesting fights.

Our Olympic bronze medallist, from London 2012, Anthony Ogogo continued to impress when pitched in with Gary O?Neil. In a six round encounter Ogogo showcased his ability by winning every round of the fight made at middleweight.

In a lightweight contest John Murray produced a decent display in stopping the former British and Commonwealth champion John Simpson.

Also at lightweight Scott Cardle made it fourteen wins on the bounce by stopping Paul Appleby in the eighth round.

Another fighter who made it fourteen wins on the trot was Michael Roberts, the Glasgow super-featherweight emerging a points winner (59-55), against the French fighter Romain Peker who illuminated the contest with some powerful shots that Roberts did well to absorb.

Ryan Smith making his professional debut, took the verdict over four rounds against the Reading fighter Ibrar Riyaz.
