Continuing with our coverage of the promotion at the Manchester Arena, on Saturday night, it was great to see another of our young boxers get their first win as a professional.
Fighting on the under-card was 25-year-old Sean McGoldrick, a fighter who struck gold at the 2010 Commonwealth.
McGoldrick, fighting at bantamweight, made his debut against Brett Fidoe and put in a splendid performance winning on points.
The points decision was emphatically in McGoldrick?s favour with the referee scoring it 40-36, giving all four rounds to the debut boy.
McGoldrick is trained by Tony Borg, in Newport and has signed professional terms with MGM and trains in the same gym as our world champion Lee Selby.
It?ll be interesting to see how McGoldrick develops over the coming months.
