Also boxing in the principality of Monte Carlo on an Eddie Hearn promotion is Jamie McDonnell.

The Doncaster fighter will be making another defence of his WBA world bantamweight title with his opponent being the Venezuelan boxer Liborio Solis.

Talking about fighting McDonnell, Solis has remarked to the media,

‘McDonnell is good, uses his jab well, throws good combinations and is also a strong guy.

‘His height could affect me a little bit but I have the tools and potential to win the world title.’

Solis is no stranger to world championship fights and is a dormer super-flyweight champion.

McDonnell will have height advantage over Solis with the champion being five feet ten as opposed to the five feet four inches of the challenger.

Recently a Venezuelan, Jorge Linares, took one of the titles held by British fighter, Anthony Crolla, home with him, will Solis do the same?
