The huge promotion at the 02 Arena, in London, this Saturday, a bill that sees Anthony Joshua take on Charles Martin for the IBF world heavyweight crown is less than a week away now.

Eddie Hearn has put together a show that has several fights of interest on it.

One of these fights sees a return to fighting on UK soil for our WBA bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell.

However, it is being reported this morning that McDonnell will have a new opponent to defend his title against.

Originally McDonnell was scheduled to face Juan Alberto Rosas but now will face a Mexican opponent in the shape of Fernando Vargas.

Vargas has a record that reads 29-9 and whilst the late switch may faze some fighters McDonnell looks set to take late switch in his stride, remarking to reporters,

?It?s a massive chance for Vargas.

?It means everything to him and he?s going to bring the fight to me, but I am focused, feeling sharp and looking to make a statement.

?I?ve been training for lots of styles so it doesn?t bother me. I?m just buzzing to be back in the UK and ready to put on a show.’

As most of the other fighters are wanting to as well, a fascinating night is in store for all of us boxing aficionados, bring it on!
